Fourth-generation family-run business Savini Tartufi, based in the tiny hamlet of Forcoli, 40 km southeast of Pisa, has opened its first themed restaurant. Located in Florence’s oldest—and perhaps most charismatic—hotel, NH-Porta Rossa, The Truffle Experience offers tuber lovers the possibility to dazzle their taste buds.

Begin with a selection of truffled cheeses and crostoni, move on to tagliolini from Savini’s local pasta makers Caponi served with cheese and white and black truffle, followed by Tuscan classic, an oven-baked egg dusted with truffles.

If you’re not all truffled out, treat your sweet tooth to a sheep ricotta frozen dessert from Florentine Gelateria Vivoli with figs and truffle-infused honey.

Open at lunch and dinner every day

Starters 15-45 euro; pasta dishes 15-45; mains 15-45; desserts 10-15
