Through May 31, Sundays in Scandicci will focus on the life-changing power of books. As part of the new series Libro della Vita, 11 contemporary Tuscan scholars and intellectuals will speak in piazza della Resistenza, answering the question ‘What book changed your life?’

The wide-ranging list of works they selected span the unexpected (cinematic children’s classic Disney’s Paperino, or Donald Duck) to university-syllabus standards (Voltaire’s Candide, Dostoyevsky’s Notes from Underground, Tolstoy’s War and Peace.)

The talks, in Italian, from 11 to 11.50am every Sunday, will feature, among others, noted essayists and historians (Franco Cardini), contemporary philosophers (Luigi Lombardi Vallauri), novelists (Marco Malvaldi), and politicians (Riccardo Illy).
