How does a homo sapiens measure up to an 8-metre-tall Tyrannosaurus rex or two-ton Triceratops? Head to Livorno and spend some time among more than 50 dinosaur models.

Until May 17, the dinosaur models, constructed on a lifesize scale, are on display in the park of Villa Mimbelli (via S. Jacopo in Acquaviva 65). The touring exhibition, World of Dinosaurs, offers children and adults a chance to get up close and personal with dinosaurs. Guided by paleontologists drawing on the most recent discoveries, the tour’s artists created the models with attention to the most minute details.

The exhibition is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9am to 6pm. (For more information, see world-of-dinosaurs.com.)

The Livorno stop of the European tour of World of Dinosaurs, organised by Wonderworld Entertainment, is supported by the Livorno City Council, the organisation Livorno Pro Loco and the Mediterranean Natural History Museum.
