From study-abroad programs to research, arts and community-building projects, the long-standing relationship between Tuscany and American universities and Anglophone cultural centres continues to be a fruitful one, involving numerous institutions as well as scholars, teachers and students from all over the world, representing a multitude of disciplines.
The upcoming Tuscan AngloAmerican Festival celebrates this special bond for the first time. From March 9 to 11, venues across Florence will host a variety of events, including seminars, exhibitions and concerts, showcasing the breadth and depth of the contributions that this relationship regularly produces.
The festival, which opens at 9am on March 9 at the Palazzo Vecchio with remarks by representatives of the City of Florence, the US Consulate in Florence, the British Institute, the Association of American College and University Programs in Italy and the Tuscan-American Association, also includes a focus on the volunteer work that students and others in the Anglo and American education community contribute to Florence.
During the festival, details will be available from the information point in piazza della Repubblica. The Florentine will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
