The Pitti Palace complex recently installed two new “Baby Pit Stop” spaces within its basement level restroom area, aiding in the comfort of visitors with small children.

Two changing tables have been installed, along with seating, available throughout the day and designed for breastfeeding, a bottle break or a quick chance to rest.

The Pitti Palace’s Baby Pit Stop is a response to increasing demand for accessibility improvements in Florence’s museums, which UNICEF has supported and helped push forward. Developing more family-friendly facilities has been a key part of this, particularly at the Uffizi, which opened the first Baby Pit Stop stations in December and has been introducing a variety of services over the past three months.
