The most delicious weekend of the year is upon us as the Stazione Leopolda prepares for Pitti Immagine’s annual food and lifestyle fair, Taste.

In the lead up to the main festival and even after the exhibitors have left town, many venues are hosting their own events for Fuori di Taste, an annual series of related initiatives around Florence. The public can take part in many of these tasty events for a small fee or even for free. Here are some highlights!

*La Marzocco Fuori di Taste
An all-day event of coffee-themed presentations and tastings. Free admission.

*Italy is served!
Venture to Vinoutlet to indulge in cold cuts from Salumi Cervellera, paired with Pugliese red wines. Still thirsty? Sample Lambrusco from the Lini910 label, Almond ’22 craft beers and a special Chianti Classico variety available exclusively at Vinoutlet. Free admission.

*Pasta Fuori di Testa
Organic whole wheat spaghetti, mullet roe and a glass of fine Tuscan wine? If this sounds like your cup of tea, then let Frescobaldi wine and dine you for just 13 euro.

*Frantoio Sant’Agata d’Oneglia
Learn “oil” about the Frantoio Sant’Agata di Oneglia mill at this free olive oil tasting and chance to chat with the producers.

*Craft Beer Tasting
Head to Eataly to sample brews from Pietrasanta’s Birrificio del Forte. Throughout the whole weekend, visitors can try dishes designed specifically to go with Forte’s best beers. Free admission to the tasting, but reservations are required.

*Red Peperita at 79Rosso
The “hottest” event at Fuori di Taste! Italian culture and arts magazine Lungarno will host this event in collaboration with Peperita, a Tuscan company specializing in chili pepper cultivation. Sample delicious peperoncino-based treats, paired with award-winning beers by Gilda dei Nani Birrai. Free admission.

*Rice aperitivo
To get your taste buds warmed up, head over to via de Tornabuoni to experience the finest regional rice. Taste Riso Carnaroli and Riso Artemide in three different variants; for just 8 euro, it’s definitely one to consider.

*Cocktail Fever!
