Located in central Florence, a stone’s throw from piazza della Repubblica, the 19th-century Helvetia & Bristol is a popular option with its original art nouveau features, superb service and timeless antiques.

The move is part of an agreement between Starhotels and TDA Capital Group to purchase and manage hotels owned by the Royal Demeure chain.

In addition to Hotel Helvetia & Bristol, Starhotels will soon manage the Hotel d’Inghilterra in Rome, the Grand Hotel Continental in Siena, and the Hotel Villa Michelangelo in Vicenza.

CEO of Starhotels Elisabetta Fabri commented in a press release, “With this operation Starhotels continues to strengthen its Italian business management project thanks to the vision of Luigi de Simone Niquesa [the CEO of TDA Capital Group], who decided to lend his support to our group’s expansion plan.”

Luigi de Simone Niquesa: “The agreement reached with Starhotels marks an important step forward for the segment, which will see some of Italy’s most prestigious hotels grow into a major national hotel chain.”

With this move, Starhotels further consolidates its high-end hotel business, vaunting 29 hotels in Italy as well as properties in New York, Paris and London.

In December 2015, Starhotels donated one million euro to clean up and renovate Florence’s piazzale Michelangelo.
