Spring is here and with it come changes on Florence’s food scene. The news that’s hit local headlines in recent weeks has been a divisive decision from the powers-that-be: to restrict new restaurant openings in central Florence to those that sell or use 70% of farm-to-table, Florentine or Tuscan ingredients. Kebab shops and minimarkets aside, let’s not forget that Florence has a lively international food scene born out of the city’s centuries-old cosmopolitan character. Controlled correctly and implemented, a move such as the one currently being considered by the Comune could raise the quality of international cuisine to even more palatable levels. Let’s take a look at this month’s top Florence food scene additions.
