The Italy-America Chamber of Commerce has awarded 25 New York restaurants the “Italian Hospitality” quality seal. The criteria for the award included the use of authentic ingredients (PDO and PGI), having an almost exclusively Italian wine list, a high level of service, the use of 100 percent Italian extra-virgin olive oil and a love of the Italian language.
“The aims of the project are supporting and promoting Italian restaurants around the world, creating a network to permit the organization of events to promote the places where typical products come from…and promoting our excellent cuisine,” said IACC secretary-general Federico Tozzi. “As the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce we work 365 days a year to monitor and verify that the ‘Italian Hospitality’ standards are respected,” he added.
IACC president Alberto Milani noted that there are currently approximately 300 restaurants with the “Italian Hospitality” quality seal in the United States.
