Fashion has been on all of our minds of late due to the annual Pitti Uomo influx.

But fashion endures in Florence year round and none more so than for recent Shanghai transplant Yiyun Mao. Spotted changing her outfit three times at Polimoda’s end-of-year fashion show, Yiyun is a performer, an interpreter of fashion who flies high above the radar.

Her project YunFashionGuide sees the young Chinese expatriate, who previously worked in the industry in Paris, dress in independent, vintage and multibrand Florence-based labels and interpret their fashion on the city’s streets in a quirky and alive way. A natural model, Yiyun embodies fashion, viewed through the lens of professional photography and videos.

The Florentine welcomes Yiyun aboard as our ‘fashion finding columnist’. Follow her on Instagram @yunfashionguide.
