Let’s face it, Florence is hot in the summer and we all need some watery relief from the oppressive humidity. If you can’t make it to the coast, then here’s a list of the city’s pools. Call the individual facilities for further information.

Pools open to the public

Costoli

Located near the Campo di Marte stadium at piazza Enrico Berlinguer 2, Costoli is the largest and one of the most popular public swimming venues in town, with three pools, including an Olympic-sized pool, a medium-sized pool with a diving board, water slides and a paddling pool for kids. Open from June 13 to August 31, 2022.

Goffredo Nannini di Bellariva

Located along the Arno, Nannini Bellariva has grassy lawns for sun worshipping and there’s an abundance of lounge chairs poolside, as well as a rooftop terrace restaurant. It boasts an Olympic-sized pool and a children’s pool area.

Le Pavoniere

In the vast green oasis of Cascine park, Le Pavoniere is by far the city’s most popular pool to dive into. Le Pavoniere has a vibrant poolside cocktail bar, restaurant and pizzeria.

Flog

Florence’s first public swimming pool is situated in the Poggetto area. Usually reserved for members only, it is open to the public in the summer, from June 2 to September 4, 2022. Swimming lessons are available for adults and children alike, or just rent lounge chairs and relax poolside.

Open daily 10am-7pm. 8 euro; reduced 7 euro, 11 euro on Saturdays.

Firenzesport Ugolino

Discover the lesser-known pool just 20 minutes from Florence, surrounded by greenery and shaded tennis courts. Prices go from 10 euro (mandatory Endas membership card, one per family unit, costing 15 euro).
