GARDEN/Tuttapposto a Ferragosto!
Nightly, August 12–19
Giardino dell’ARTEcultura, via Vittorio Emanuele II 4, Florence

giardino

Unwind over a seasonal aperitif and live music served fresh all week long at the Giardino dell’Orticultura (playfully renamed “Artecultura” for its summer incarnation). For the third edition of mellow music festival Tuttapposto a Ferragosto, a variety of artists will take the stage each night beginning at 7pm. The inaugural concert has an international edge as Hong Kong singer Heidi Lee performs a neo-soul pop-jazz blend (August 12), while other dates include favorites from last year’s edition, like Freddie Maguire (August 13) and Italian “swingers” Rabarbari (August 14). For more information, see the Giardino dell’ARTEcultura website or call 055/4620264.

If you haven’t yet ventured up to FLOWER, an open-air, official Estate Fiorentina 2016 venue in piazzale Michelangelo, tonight’s the perfect time to see why this tropical bar has won over all of Florence’s staycationers. Enjoy the light summer breeze and beachy beverages served in mason jars as Florentine actor Lorenzo degl’Innocenti reads excerpts from texts by American humorist David Sedaris and short story author Raymond Clevie Carver, Jr. Entry is free. The reading will begin at 9.30pm; arrive early to grab a seat and watch the sunset. For more information, see FLOWER’s Facebook page.
