The Florentine’s resident filmmaker David Battistella is close to finishing his latest film and most ambitious project to date. “The Innocents of Florence” looks at when art restorers in Florence began work on a 600-year-old painting and the journey they led to uncover the story of the city’s abandoned children and the women who saved them. Battistella has launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund the filming costs: show your support here.
