Uffizi Live expands in Summer 2018

The Uffizi Live performing arts festival is doubling its summer entertainment offering for 2018, adding Wednesday night events to a busy schedule.

The Uffizi Live performing arts festival has dedicated Tuesday summer nights to music recitals, dance productions and experimental live acts for the last three years. These events are expected to double this summer adding entertainment on Wednesday evenings focusing on talks, presentations and debates.

 

Director of the Uffizi Galleries Eike Schmidt said that the initiative is intended to “broaden our cultural offerings in terms of quantity and quality, by expanding and experimenting new paths in museum accessibility”.

Past events have included itinerant string quartets playing pieces inspired by the arts, commedia dell’arte recitals and dance performed among the sculptures and paintings.

 

Summer changes have also been announced at the Accademia Gallery. Every Tuesday from June 5 to September 28, entry hours will be extended to 10pm, with the museum also planning its own summer night event series.
