Teatro? #BellaStoria! is back, encouraging teen urbanites to check out Florence’s fabulous theatre scene. For the cost of one ticket, everyone aged between 14 and 19 can enjoy eight shows and a pop concert, attend mask-making workshops, go behind the scenes and even meet the stars.
Promoted by Fondazione CR Firenze, the hashtag #passaparola says it all: it’s up to Florence’s next generation to spread the word. The first 50 people who convince a friend to sign up can choose a second pop concert for free: the chance to see Sardinian rapper Salmo, a Spotify leader with more than 10 million listens a day, on his Playlist tour. All you have to do is type in your and your friend’s Italian tax code (codice fiscale) on www.ilteatrobellastoria.it and if your pal buys a ticket, you’ll win a spot at the Salmo gig.
This year’s Teatro? #BellaStoria! lineup includes Måneskin, Thegiornalisti and Irama pop concerts and a smorgasbord of theatre and opera: Madama Butterfly and The Barber of Seville at Teatro del Maggio Fiorentino; plays at Teatro di Rifredi; Oblivion and Elio Germano’s La mia Battaglia at Teatro Puccini; Don Chisciotte and Io e Pirandello at Teatro della Pergola; classical concerts by L’Orchestra della Toscana; musicals We Will Rock You and School of Rock at Teatro Verdi; and soloist concerts by Gli Amici della Musica at Teatro Niccolini; Maratona di New York and Shakespeare in facebook, two plays at Teatro Dante Carlo Monni in Campi Bisenzio.
Tickets are on sale from December 1. 8 shows + 1 pop concert = 40 euro.
