Restoration has been completed on a swathe of the north facade of Florence Cathedral.

Conducted by the company Leonardo srl, work began on the 1,200 square metre section in April 2018 and included pre-strengthening, cleaning, stucco removal and re-stuccoing. This part of the cathedral was last restored in the 1950s, with the exception of the Porta della Mandorla, which was refreshed between 2002 and 2012.

The Porta dei Cornacchini, also on the north façade, is expected to be restored in 2020.
