The Giardino Bardini is transforming into a purple paradise with its annual bloom. In celebration, Fondazione Parchi Monumentali Bardini e Peyron, which oversees the garden and its villa, is partnering with Fondazione CR Firenze to promote the #GlicineBardiniContest. The Instagram competition will award the most beautiful photo published on the social media platform with a personalized, one-on-one photography course at Studio Marangoni, participation in a two-day workshop organized by Lonely Planet during the festival “La città dei Lettori,” and free entrance for two people to the Giardino Bardini and all the villa’s exhibitions for 2019.

To participate in the contest, participants must follow @VillaBardini on Instagram, visit the garden before April 29 and publish a photo of the wisterias using the tag @villabardini and the hashtags #VillaBardini e #GlicineBardiniContest. The five most beautiful photos will be selected by a jury, and the public can vote on Villa Bardini’s Instagram on May 1 by liking their favourite photo. The photo with the most likes will be declared the winner.

This year’s bloom is also being celebrated through a series of guided visits to the wisteria pergola with Claudia Mezzapesa and Elena Moretti, landscape architects from Memoscape, who will recount fun facts about the plant life and history of the garden.
