If you plan to celebrate in style, the Four Seasons Hotel Florence, along borgo Pinti, caters to your every need. Michelin-starred chef Vito Mollica prepares special dishes that showcase local ingredients to make a Thanksgiving alternative. Starter options include shrimp and king crab, carrot and ginger reduction with spiced leek or Jerusalem artichoke risotto and black truffle. Follow these delectable dishes with the traditional turkey with herb filling, cranberry sauce and sweet potato cream. The whole traditional dinner, but gluten free. Don’t let dietary restrictions dampen the festivities as delicious alternatives are available at Ristorante Quinoa. The stars and stripes are duly honoured with tasty stuffed turkey carved by the chef, bringing together Americans and those looking to join in the fun. L’OV-Osteria Vegetariana
The green-filled space of L’OV in piazza del Carmine is a fabulous vegetarian option for those looking for a turkey-less alternative to the traditional feast. Chefs Simone Bernacchioni and Danilo Dispoto have come up with a tasty tribute to the stars and stripes, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options suiting all palates. With a welcome cocktail, three courses, water and cover charge coming to a total of 25 euro, it’s hard to say no to this inviting menu. The 19th annual thanksgiving dinner takes place in piazza San Marco where the traditional dishes will be served up with aplomb. 35 euro (drinks not included) will get you pumpkin soup with cornbread, turkey with trimmings, mashed potatoes and creamed corn, followed by apple strudel, pumpkin pie or pecan pie. Hard Rock Cafè
Get your family or friends together for this time-honoured tradition and make your way to the Hard Rock Cafè at via dei Brunelleschi, 1, Florence. An added treat is the performance at 8pm by One Voice Gospel Choir, directed by Giorgio Ammirabile with pianist Giacomo Ferrari, giving a bonus of patriotic music to your patriotic plate.
