Love is in the air at the Uffizi! The second edition of the events organized to celebrate the wedding of Agnolo Doni and Maddalena Strozzi in 1503 sees lovers from all over the world come together to celebrate amore. The splendid portraits of the couple by Raphael, and Michelangelo’s famous Tondo of the Holy Family were commissioned by the wealthy patrons, and the focal point of the festivities at the museum. Last year saw thousands of lovers from all over the world participate in the celebration of love and this year is sure to receive the same turn out with harp music, an urban dance show and themed guided tours. The museum will remain open until 9pm, allowing time for a drink on the terrace to toast love! Couples pay half price on the evening. Festival celebrating Irishness

 

 

Ireland comes to Florence with an Irish festival organised by Iris Céilí held at Il Conventino Caffé Letterario. With traditional music by ‘The Hidden Note’, performances by the Iris Bunch dance company, and Irish group dances for everyone, you can be sure of a fun time, all guided by expert dancers from Iris, and the Irish Dance Academy. Don’t miss the dance magic of Tim Flaherty (Belfast, Northern Ireland) performing awe-inspiring set dances! Tea and scones are offered as a special treat for this edition.
