A helping hand to pay the rent

Starting from April 20, persons struggling to pay their rent in Florence can seek assistance from the city council.

Starting from April 20, persons struggling to pay their rent in Florence can seek assistance from the city council.

 

This funding is available for individuals who have stopped working or reduced their hours due to the Covid-19 emergency. The maximum funding available is 300 euro per month or 50 per cent of the monthly rental fee. The funding corresponds to three consecutive months of rent payments effective April 2020 and will be paid in a single sum if your application is approved.

 

In order to qualify for the rental aid, you must be a resident in Florence at the address where you are applying for the funding; have a registered residential lease contract; and have a household income that does not exceed 28,684.36 euro. You must not own any property or enjoy usufruct of real estate within 50 kilometres of the rental address and must not an assignee of social housing. You must be able to demonstrate a loss in household earnings of no less than 30 per cent caused by the Covid-19 pandemic: employees and the self-employed may apply.

 

Applications can only be made online here from 9:00 on April 20 to 23:59 on May 11.
