The measure will be enforced by stewards and the city police manning access points on Friday and Saturday nights between 7pm and 2am, from October 9 to 31. Masks must be worn in accordance with the new nationwide legislation and alcohol and glass containers must not be brought into the piazza. Residents and business owners will obviously be excluded from the capped numbers.

The city ordinance also prohibits the sale of alcohol in any form of container between 8pm and 6am every day of the week. Alcohol may only be sold with table service at bars and restaurants. Grocery stores must be closed between 8pm and 6am from Friday to Sunday in piazza Santo Spirito, via Sant’Agostino, via Mazzetta, via Maffia, via Maggio, via delle Caldaie, borgo Tegolaio and via del Presto di S. Martino.
