THEATRE/ Hershey Felder: A Paris Love Story

November 22, 2020 + on demand for a week

Hershey Felder as Debussy during rehearsals in Florence, Italy, on November 12, 2020 / ph. @marcobadiani for The Florentine

For the past seven months, pianist, performer and producer Hershey Felder has been finding ways to support theatres and theatre artists, while entertaining audiences during these complicated times. A delightful Debussy journey achieves that in a live-streamed performance that takes us through Paris and how it shaped a whole new world of colour in sound in the music of Claude Debussy. A ticket, valid for a household, includes extended viewing access of the recording through Sunday, November 29 and also helps The Florentine as a percentage of ticket sales generously goes towards supporting our magazine. Take a look behind the scenes of Hershey Felder’s latest online-only performance here

St Mark’s English Church launch their new Book Club, meeting for the first time via Zoom on November 19 at 8pm. For this first meeting, the host, Eleanor Walker, will suggest three books that have some connection to Italy, before voting as a group on which to read. Going forward, people can bring their own suggestions that don’t necessarily need to be linked to Italy. The meetings will be held in English, but all are welcome and, should they so wish, can read an Italian translation. A minimum donation of 5 euro per meeting is appreciated to assist in fundraising efforts for the church. Find out more about the St Mark’s online event series here.
