Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport will close for maintenance between February 1 and March 20, 2021.
The 48-day closure will enable Toscana Aeroporti, the company that manages both Florence and Pisa airports, to resurface the runway and safety strip, including the luminous devices and horizontal markings. The decision was made to go ahead with the work at a time when air traffic is at minimum levels due to the pandemic.
No flights will be able to land in Florence during this period. Plane companies have been notified and are in the process of cancelling or rerouting flights.
