Depending on where you go this summer, wearing last year’s swimsuit might not cut the mustard as we discard our pandemic past. Here are a couple of Florentine beachwear designers to update your summer look locally.

Emanuela Biffoli zooms in on our inner determination with feminine looks of resilience. Pair a striped, gecko-embossed Summer in Italy rope tote with a stylish scarlet one-piece and coral-topped sandals, or choose a floral-embroidered white denim jacket matched with a lime straw mini bag for those long summer nights.

Colombian Virginia Rodriguez designs beachwear along the Oltrarno’s via Maggio under the Frida Querida brand. Reading into the zeitgeist, the swimwear is elegant but sporty in a retro mix of soft minimalism. Burst on the beach in high-waisted culottes (we’re loving the aubergine shade), soft asymmetric bikini top, or a full-length swimsuit crafted in all Italian sustainable Lycra.
