On September 17, Fiesole’s Roman Theatre will host the first edition of TEDxFiesole in an afternoon schedule of world-class speakers tackling the burning issues of our time.
“A Renewed Humanism” is the theme of TEDxFiesole as the future beckons with extraordinary possibilities in clean energy, social entrepreneurship, climate and sustainable finance, and new technologies at a time of great turmoil in human history. As viewed from the TEDxFiesole perspective, the way forward is the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and UN 2030 Agenda, which include empowering women and disadvantaged peoples; eliminating war and poverty; creating universal access to food, water and energy; and reversing climate change and ecosystem destruction.
Tickets include access to the Roman theatre, museum and archaeological site for the duration of the event and discounts at local restaurants, plus a light dinner and concert at night in the arena. The event will host 1,500 people in the striking setting of the Roman Theatre of Fiesole and more than 50,000 in live streaming worldwide.
On September 16, the public will have the unique opportunity to meet the speakers and special guests at a gala reception held at Villa Bardini at 6.30pm, which will also introduce the newly formed The Club of Fiesole Foundation: write to tickets@tedxfiesole.com for more details.
