Some days it feels like you’ve seen every captivating view of Florence, but then you step out onto a rooftop where the Duomo seems so close that you could reach out and touch it. That’s the exquisite sensation provided by Rooftop Events Florence.

The unforgettable rooftop that’s available for intimate dinners, concerts and cocktail events

History pervades through the central section of Palazzo Pucci, a sixteenth-century building designed by important Florentine architects such as Ammannati and Sangallo. Cast iron gateways, pietra serena staircases and terracotta details welcome a select number of guests to the palazzo for an exclusive experience of a lifetime.

The historic venue consists of a series of terraces, each with extraordinary all-round views of the cityscape: Giotto’s bell tower, the copper dome of the Synagogue, the Medici Chapels, and even a glimpse of the recently restored Baptistery roof. What makes this event location so unique is the vicinity to the north side of the Duomo, darkened over the centuries and alluringly medieval in its appearance. This singular point of view is softened by the rooftop kitchen garden, which the owner of this beguiling palazzo has expertly planted with herbs and vegetables. The botanicals aren’t purely for ambient purposes: they appear in the seasonal and refined dishes prepared by the chef, whose lengthy experience of catering for events here ensures flawless service.

The north-facing rooftop at sunset

Imagine your perfect event on this rooftop with sublime Florence views. The sun is starting to set as you step out onto the centuries-old terracotta tiles. Below, the city relaxes after another busy day. Up here, the possibilities are endless for small-scale occasions. A waiter courteously extends a welcome drink, maybe a Negroni, a Florentine invention, or an elegant stemmed glass of Italy’s finest Franciacorta bubbles. Beneath the pergola, friends or colleagues chatter beside the trickling water fountain as the first few notes from a string quartet entice you over to the north-facing terrace looking out towards Fiesole: a Morricone concert once delighted guests here. With original parquet flooring and hand-picked vintage furnishings, the sophisticated indoor living and dining rooms (still with that Duomo view!) provide a tasteful alternative in case of inclement weather. Nine steps take you up to the spectacular main terrace, where lovers have been known to pop the question during romantic proposals (some have even held intimate elopement-style weddings down on the Fountain Terrace) and companies have held board dinners for up to 21 persons.

Experiences by Rooftop Events Florence come with a side order of history and heritage. Guests can take a tour of the basilica of Santissima Annunziata, which the Pucci family helped finance, and gaze at Pontormo’s striking (and largest) oil painting on canvas, the Pucci Altarpiece, in the tiny church of San Michele Visdomini before arriving for an unforgettable private visit of the family archive, gallery and music room. All tours in and around the palazzo are led by expert English-speaking guides and are organized by Rooftop Events Florence

Special occasions don’t only happen when the sun shines. Even on drizzly days in the spring, autumn and winter, the cocktail, concert and dinner formula here in these historic and inspiring surroundings delights the discerning.
