For a beauty and wellness centre that has only just opened its doors this May, there’s already a homely, settled feeling that welcomes you in off the street. Located on via Nino Bixio 1/D in Campo di Marte, Muza’s retro style venue has a lounge feel, with Ginevra De Bellis and Ilaria Cilibrizzi having come together to create a setting that envelops those who visit.
Working in marketing, brand identity and events meetings, Ginevra frequently availed of Ilaria’s expertise at another beauticians in town, with their rapport quickly blossoming into a friendship. Ginevra elaborates, “I didn’t see Ilaria for a long time because she changed beauticians and I kept wondering where she’d gone. I then bumped into her in Gavinana, and we started meeting up regularly. We had the idea to join together our experiences and abilities to create what we would really love to give clients, and so Muza Beauty & Wellness Boutique was born”.
The name plays on the Greek Muses, as beacons of inspiration. The vintage vibes are blended with a more contemporary outlook in terms of innovation and technology, offering brand-new treatments such as the Mesoject gun, with the latest in skincare. Ilaria details “We wanted to embrace everything that the past has gifted us, while welcoming everything that the future can still hold”.
The passion behind the project is evident from the moment you step in the door, with the warm welcome and genuine enthusiasm and expertise behind the explanations about the products and experiences leaving clients feeling truly cared for and in safe hands. This is an aspect that mattered to Ginevra and Ilaria, “We really want clients to feel at home, to enjoy the personalized treatments while having a total relax. We use two lines, Payot and Dermotyphone, both of which have beautiful scents and textures while also working extremely well on the deep layers of the skin”.
The space is made up of a manicure and pedicure lounge, using OPI products which form an enticing display on the gorgeously wallpapered surfaces. Three treatment rooms are wrapped around the space, one of which is ideal for couples’ massages.
Treated to a facial, I was shown to one of the restful rooms, as music by Ludovico Einaudi added bonus points to the already positive experience. Following a detailed analysis of my skin’s needs (there’s even a machine on site to diagnose deeper), I left with a notably brighter complexion and gladly went make-up free for the weekend to show off the newly illuminated skin. Any moments while a cream needs to sit are spent with an oh-so-relaxing massage, so not only is your skin left renewed, but you also emerge feeling the stresses have been extracted from formerly tense shoulders.
Whether it’s epilation, eyelash tint or a full massage, the ample treatment menu means there’s top-to-toe care, and an intriguing promise of future events like evenings dedicated to Armocromia (colour analysis) and reflexology.
