The Florence Korea Film Fest comes to Cinema La Compagnia from March 20-29, with the 23rd edition including an homage to the director Na Hong-jin through masterclasses and screenings, with online screenings available for those unable to make the festival. A leader in the Korean noir genre, his 2008 thriller, The Chaser forms part of the lineup, as well as The Wailing, a horror centred around an elderly man in a quiet rural village.

Guest of honour Hwang Jung-min receives a dedicated retrospective with eight titles exploring the variety of his career. One of the most famous actors in contemporary South Korean cinema, he’ll deliver an exclusive masterclass—his first in Italy—offering the public the opportunity to get his tips and tricks on acting.
The programme also expands beyond the screenings, including a meeting with director Choo Chang-min in Palazzo Bastogi, the creator of popular works like Masquerade (2012) and Land of Happiness (2024). A concert by Mowg, performing with the Florence Pops Orchestra, immerses audiences in his much-loved film music, including his soundtracks for The Last Stand (2013) and Silenced (2011), accompanied by singer Kim Go-woon.
