Vote from Abroad is a non-partisan organization that will have volunteers in two locations in Florence available to assist US voters to register to vote and to update their registration if they are already registered. After ballots have been received, they will assist voters in submitting their completed ballots. The locations will be staffed weekly until the election, from 3.30-5.30pm at the Shake Cafè on via Cavour on Tuesdays, and from 6-8pm on Thursdays at Le Murate Caffè Letterario.

Talented local artisans share their tricks, with expert actors also detailing their creative processes. Local wine and cheese are on offer at this event organized in partnership with Creative People in Florence. Pop into the studios along via dei Serragli, between via Sant’Agostino and via del Campuccio from 5-10 pm on Thursday, September 5. No reservations are required.
English speakers have united for an aperitivo organized by Richard Harris for over ten years, while he simultaneously managed the Facebook group Expats living in Tuscany and Maremma with Sheida and Paul O’Halloran. This summer, they host a special occasion in the Maremma to meet and get to know each other better, with special guest Jessica Lionnel of The Local Italy talking around the topic of writing for the international community. Paper art is placed in some of the most charming points in the city, transforming the historical centre of Lucca into a paper art gallery. Exhibitions are hosted in the recently restored Palazzo Guinigi, and an outdoor exhibition that sees seven installations in the centre.
