Gruppo Astrofili Montelupo astronomers and scientists will be dedicated to you, illustrating the secrets of the universe and guiding you in the observation of stars and planets through a professional telescope. The event Vino e Stelle, which will take place again in the evocative atmosphere of the Wine Garden of Castelfalfi estate, will be accompanied by the guided tasting of the Castelfalfi wines that you can enjoy on the comfortable ground cushions to admire the stars even with the naked eye.

At 8.30pm on August 5, Berkshire Choral International will perform Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, conducted by Heinz Ferlesch. The Camerat de’ Bardi will bring the masterpiece to life with Astried Kessler as soprano, mezzo-soprano Michaela Selinger, tenor Robert Bartneck, and bass Felix Speer. Part of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Meyer Children’s Hospital Foundation.

See cinema in the relaxed setting of the Anconella Park, with a free-entry film series along the banks of the Arno taking place at 9pm on various dates in August. From science fiction cult classics to Tuscan comedians, the programme also sees book presentations, guided walks and special guests.
Celebrations start to mark the 850th anniversary of the iconic tower of Pisa. The instantly recognizable monument will be honoured with a series of events held over the course of the year, with the programme soon to be announced.
Celebrate the Night of San Lorenzo at Villa Vogel with a carousel and free watermelon from 8.30pm, followed by stargazing from 8.45pm. Finish off with a puppet show by Pupi di Stac at 9.15pm, bound to delight audiences of all ages.
At 6pm on July 20, take part in a guided tour of the Exhibiting exhibition at Manifattura Tabacchi. On display until September 3, the free admission display explores the connection between the site and the production of contemporary art, with a showcase of works built in dialogue with the architecture.
Cinema under the stars, contemporary dance, literature and children’s workshops in an urban farm colour the Estate Fiorentina calendar. Blending culture and agriculture, the greenery is dotted with hay bales where you can enjoy the varied programme, all while dining on healthy food and taking part in outdoor activities.
Every Thursday and Friday until August 10, savor a sunset aperitivo in the new gardens at Ruffino’s Poggio Casciano estate, near Florence, paired with live music. This week sees jazz musician Matteo Biancalani on July 13, Italian-Greek pianist and composer Tommaso Panconesi on July 14, and the ZipBag duo on July 20, with soul, R’n’B and pop on vocals and guitar.

Sixteen free-entry screenings in the suburbs bring film-lovers together for the minivan that drives cinema around the city. Districts 2, 3, 4 and 5 each get their own dates in the ‘pocket cinema’ series.
