Werther and Don Giovanni present two contrasting faces of unbridled passion as they come to be undone by the love of one and none. Stage direction by Federico Grazzini and conducted by Jonathon Cole-Swinard. Tickets give access to the Fondazione and the Corsini gardens (weather permitting) from 6pm, including the offer of a glass of wine. The concert begins at 7pm, and has been generously supported by Charles and Caroline Pridgeon.

Curated by Daphne Vitali, the works reflect on the 20th century and its repercussions in the present, with the multilayered project critically investigating the history of Italian cultural institutions. Visitors are taken through considerations of family stories, social class, collective memory and the construction of national identity.

The Social Hub (viale Spartaco Lavagnini 70/72) inaugurates the Fiera art exhibition by Rosmunda at 6pm on March 2, with proud and ferocious creatures reimagined, including a talk at Libreria Alice (on-site) to dive deeper into the works. The artist from Pordenone studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, where she is still based, working as an illustrator and muralist, focusing on symbols, archetypes and mythology. The ten posters on show reveal different mythological and folklore creatures that are both animalistic and human.

The weekly dinner show at House of Nine sees entertainment by Arachel Dolphie and the Daisy’s Cuban Band. Featuring special guest shows once a month, the dinner and show is open to all culinary and music lovers from 8pm every Friday until May, and every Thursday and Friday in May and June.

Distinctive works by the German artist come to the two spaces, curated by Sergio Risaliti, featuring elements of European expressionism and American popular culture, with names like Jawlensky, Munch, Kirchner, Henry Ford and Walt Disney playing a fundamental role in the formation of his style, with aspects also drawn from Cézanne and Matisse. The dance project by Virgilio Sieni brings both dancers and audiences into closer awareness of their bodies and their capabilities, with Claudia Castellucci’s The new habit on March 2+3 bound to mesmerize viewers. On March 9+10, the programme features Dewey Dell’s I’ll do, I’ll do, I’ll do, with Cristina Kristal Rizzo Monumentum Da on March 16+17, and Francesco Giomi performing Foosball on March 24.

Toscana Produzione Musica organizes 10 live shows that vary from Afro psychedelia and Latin beats to Middle Eastern music and jazz. The series kicks off with Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness on March 1, an energetic group from Johannesburg, followed by La Chica’s Latin American sounds on March 17 and Naïssam Jalal, a French-Syrian flautist on March 24.
