From circus to jazz to film screenings, there will be something for every taste this summer.
"Return Home" features the estate’s garden, fruits and flowers with early twentieth-century flair.
Salute the “real” start of summer with an evening at 25Hours Hotel. Two premium liqueur brands from the Pernod group, Codigo 1530 and Monkey 47, are accompanied by lots of tropical fruits, with a DJ set by Remo Giugni. From 7pm to 1am. Entry is free with a special price for cocktails.

The sixth edition of the travelling arts festival features talents from the international contemporary theatre scene, putting a spotlight on the work carried out by the Compagnia Interazioni Elementari, in which young people of Florence’s juvenile prison are involved in the performing arts workshop.

Until August 28, Non Solo Cinema returns to Manifattura Tabacchi, with a new location of the Cortile della Ciminiera. The programme of screenings and events curated by Fondazione Stensen in Italian and original language with subtitles. There’s free admission for the 11.30pm on Thursdays in July, with reduced entry of 3.50 euro for Italian and European films.

100 works, including drawings, engravings, paintings, sculptures and photographs ranging from the 13th century to the contemporary, illustrate how the perception of the most famous bell tower in the world has changed over the centuries, on the occasion of the 850th anniversary of the “Leaning Tower”.

The exhibition space of the Antica Canonica di San Giovanni hosts works by the photographer in which she treats the monuments of the Cathedral of Florence with a dreamlike and poetic vision across 13 black and white images.

The Annual Showcase of the Fondazione Mascarade Opera’s Florence Choral Course will be held at 8pm on July 5, with selected young singers from around the world performing music of the Italian Renaissance in the beautiful setting of the historic Palazzo Corsini al Prato. The ticket gives you access to the Fondazione and Corsini gardens (weather permitting) from 7pm, including the offer of a glass of wine.

Cinema under the stars at Querceto di Castellina is an unforgettable event on July 6 that sees wine-themed movie, Ridley Scoot’s A Good Year, screened under the Tuscan stars while sipping and savouring glasses of Chianti Classico or a gin-based cocktail crafted by the makers. Popcorn, of course, completes the scene, with the gorgeous vineyard view as a backdrop.

The programme includes poetry readings, book presentations, stand-up comedy and music, with this week seeing ‘Run and Flow on July 9, and Creator Wiz Live’ with Daniele Gattano on July 11.

Trattoria Guaiana opens in Villa Romana, “a convivial, participatory table to explore what it tastes, looks and feels like to live in a society where tradition is no longer used for ‘othering’ people and instead, it learns from every voice that contributes to its reality”. The project stems from the significant historical erasure of the attempt by the Medici to colonize the Amazon in 1608, with flavours and sensorial experiences supporting the cultures and natures that contribute to Italian tradition and identity but are still excluded from it. Guided tastings, experimental dinners, kitchen-counter chats and community conversations are designed to challenge the traditional notion of Italian identity.

The 8th edition of the classical music series sees concerts in various Medicean villas in Tuscany, with audiences treated to performances by the Orchestra della Toscana in venues like the villas of Cerreto Guidi, Seravezza, and Pratolino Park. Mozart, Beethoven, Mendlessohn and Prokofiev are the composers conjuring their magic, with guided tours of the villas for an added cultural experience.
