Museo Novecento brings a masterpiece by the renowned artist Jean Arp, while also inaugurating a display of works by the acclaimed abstractionist artist, Magnelli.

Marisa Garreffa speaks with Lauren Mouat (@laurenissima_unlock_italy) about her new book, Intermezzo. Taking place at 6.45pm at Alice Storyteller (via de Pucci 4), the collection of stories will be discussed by the author, with the collection focusing on moments of change, and a parallel text translation in Italian by Alessia Mennitti.

Nittardi, 40 Years of Wine and Art

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the art project by the Nittardi winery in Chianti Classico, an exhibition displays the artworks created for their bottles by internationally renowned artists. Over 80 labels by contemporary artists make up the show, with well-known names such as Dario Fo, Yoko Ono, Mimmo Paladino and Hundertwasser among the artists involved. Free entry.

San Miniato White Truffle Market Exhibition

San Miniato fills with the appetite-inducing scent of truffles over the last three weekends of November for the fair that sees gourmets and the curious getting to know the famous underground delicacy through the events programme and food stands that fill the picturesque town.

Perfect pairings: a guided tasting of 6 cheeses + 3 wines

Join The Florentine for a special event hosted by World Cheese Awards judge and journalist Kristine Jannuzzi (@nyccheesechick) and Italian wine scholar and Formaggioteca owner Rebecca Gouttenoire, in collaboration with The Florentine. The ladies will lead us through a tasting of six cheeses from six different Italian regions, paired with three wines from northern, central and southern Italy. They’ll also share tips on how to build a fabulous cheese board, as well as must–have formaggi and vini for the holidays. 25hours Hotel and Festival dei Popoli are presenting 25hours pop doc, with Italian documentaries from the Popoli documentary series shown on Sundays at 6pm until December 4, with free entry. Duccio Chiarini’s Hit the Road Nonna is lined up for November 13.

CONCERT

Mascarade Opera Foundation

Pianist Giuseppe Guarrera plays at the stunning setting of Palazzo Corsini in via il Prato in an evening of exquisite classical music organized by the Mascarade Opera Studio. The programme consists of Three Sonatas by Scarlatti, Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 2, No. 1, Chopin’s Nocturnes Op. 62, Nos. 1 & 2, and Venezia e Napoli, S.159 by Liszt. Works by Donizetti, Puccini and Massenet are directed by Noa Naamat on November 17.

Lo Schermo dell'Arte

The contemporary film fest takes place in Cinema La Compagnia and elsewhere from November 16 to 20, with online screenings via Più Compagnia until November 27. Along with a focus on Italian visual artist Rosa Barba and the VISIO European Programme of Artists’ Moving Images, the programme features new productions by Giorgio Andreotta Calò and Éric Baudelaire as well as documentaries on Jesse Krimes, Jean-Michel Basquiat and the historic meeting between Marina Abramović and Ulay.
