The Social Hub (formerly The Student Hotel) hosts an intriguing exhibition by the collective Timidessen, organized by Marcella Piccinni. The spaces of The Social Hub are transformed into a subversive supermarket, with art, irony and items familiar from store shelves, communicating themes of fears, health, mental health, paranoia and depression through plays on popular brand names. At the grand opening on November 19, yoga therapist Silvia Moneti will conduct 20 minutes of collective meditation.
Scenes from Puccini’s La Bohème, Massenet’s Werther and L’Elisir d’amore by Donizetti are directed by Noa Naamat on November 17 at the stunning setting of Palazzo Corsini in via il Prato in an evening of exquisite classical music organized by the Mascarade Opera Studio. Ticket sales are until 6pm, when doors open to the Fondazione and Corsini gardens, with wine on offer.
Irene restaurant at Hotel Savoy hosts an unforgettable evening from 8pm on November 18 with a four course menu starring black and white truffles and an excellent selection of wines. The Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore hosts the first performance of the play Con il Cielo Dentro at 9.15pm on November 24. With words by Davide Rondoni, staging by Giancarlo Cauteruccio and original music by Roberto Fabbriciani, it’s produced by the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore in collaboration with the Krypton Studio Theater, interpreting the story of the historic cathedral.
