The enchanting soundtracks of John Williams will be performed in Teatro Verdi in Florence, with music from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List and more performed by the K&K Philharmonic orchestra, conducted by Matthias G. Kendliger. Tickets from 34.50 euro.

The 11th edition of FAI Autumn Days takes place on October 15-16, with 700 sites across 350 Italian cities accessible for visits upon donation for members (sign-up available online). Palaces, villas, churches, castles, archaeological areas, museums, military sites and more will open their doors for the occasion, as well as nature trails, visits to parks and gardens and various itineraries. Florentine venues include Villa Favard, Villa del Poggio Imperiale and Castello Montauto.
From 8am to 7.30pm on October 16, viale Paoli and via Fanti in the stadium area of Campo di Marte fill with street vendors from all over Tuscany. With clothing, accessories, footwear, food, wine, local crafts and items for the home, hundreds of stalls display their wares in the 36th edition of the event. For the occasion, US Affrico will bring their food stands (open from midday) dedicated to mushrooms and fried foods, organized as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the sports association.
The long professional life of the renowned photographer is celebrated with his most poignant shots, selected by the curator Biba Giacchetti together with the French-American photographer. Around 70 photographs will be on display, including shots of Marilyn Monroe, his iconic dogs, and the well-known work titled California Kiss.
7 artists (Leone Contini, Simone Donati, Claudia Losi, Elena Mazzi, Eléna Nemkova, Caterina Sbrana and Nicola Toffolini) investigate the merging of natural and artificial spaces, with the project on display at IED Firenze created in collaboration between the IED Masters in Curatorial Practice and the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation on the occasion of the Olafur Eliasson exhibition.
Over 200 works by the Dutch artist Maurits Cornelis come to the complex designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, displaying engravings and lithographs intertwining art, mathematics, science, physics and design.
Seven events, five concerts and two talks form the programme for the festival, playing with the genres of classical and jazz and involving highly skilled musicians. Players from the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory perform while surrounded in the nature of the Giardino della Catena in Cascine Park, with discussion around various topics such as climate change, inclusivity, and the role of music and art in today’s society. All concerts are free. In the case of rain, events will take place at the PARC Performing Arts Research Center.
Piazza San Firenze and piazza del Carmine fill with the elegant figures of warriors, dancers and horses by the Tuscany-born artist Antonio Signorini. The sculptures also mark the arrival of the new Florence seat of the global contemporary art gallery, OBLONG.
