Artworks by Giovanni Lopez go on display in the natural history museum, bringing together oil paintings from his atelier in Oltrarno and from private collections. The fantastical works curated by Diano Di Nuzzo represent places in which humans and animals tell stories that have little to do with reality.

On October 12+13, the muddiest obstacle race imaginable sets off from the hu Norcenni Girasole village in Figline and Incisa Valdarno, running along off-road trails through the Chianti hills, with various distances catering from amateurs to athletes. Along the tracks, they’ll meet obstacles with names like Lucifer, Judas Iscariot, Charon and Count Ugolino, for a Dantesque challenge.

Libreria Alice at The Social Hub on viale Spartaco Lavagnini 70-72 hosts the Deliranza Festival from October 11-13, an opportunity to read, dance, listen to talks and presentations, watch live paintings, and meet new people, with 30 publishing houses present to reveal their books and many special guests.

See the programmeVote from Abroad is a non-partisan organization that will have volunteers in two locations in Florence available to assist US voters to register to vote and to update their registration if they are already registered. After ballots have been received, they will assist voters in submitting their completed ballots. The locations will be staffed weekly until the election, from 3.30-5.30pm at the Shake Cafè on via Cavour on Tuesdays, and from 6-8pm on Thursdays at Le Murate Caffè Letterario.

What was lost is now found.
