The playwright and the psychiatrist are the subjects of the newest exhibition at MAD, as part of the Estate Fiorentina calendar. LGBTQIA+*

Toscana Pride

“Indomitə e Fierə” (Fearless and Proud) is the slogan for this year’s celebration of the LGBTQIA+* community in Tuscany. On @toscanapride’s Instagram, we read: “Tuscany’s queer community is ready to take to the streets to have its voice heard and to stand against the homo-lesbian-trans-phobia and the institutional violence of Giorgia Meloni’s government, which has shown its true traditional family-oriented, sovereigntist, racist and ableist nature. It’s a government that uses the bodies of women and LGBTQIA+* people as an ideological battleground to obtain political consensus, represses dissent with force and undermines the foundations of our democracy, which should be based on rights, not privileges.” Last year’s march in Florence was attended by 50,000 people from all over central Italy.
