International School of Florence – The Student Support Assistant is an integral member of the Dean of Students’ team, promoting a restorative, safe, and supportive campus environment for students, staff, and families.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting students in classes and small groups
- Increase access and engagement in learning by identifying and removing barriers;
- Ensuring that Individual Learning Plans are current and provided for teachers for students with identified learning needs;
- Communicating with and supporting classroom teachers in understanding and implementing inclusive access arrangements and reasonable adjustments to learning and assessment;
Education and Experience:
- A relevant first degree and teaching qualification/experience
- Preference for experience working with adolescents in the 11-18 age range
- Restorative practices experience and positive behaviour strategies
- A minimum 3 years of full time teaching or support experience in an international school environment
