Although lower than that of most large cities in Italy, Florence’s cost of living has risen 1.2% since last year. While the cost of rent, water, gas, and clothing has increased, that of various food items has actually decreased. The cost of meat and fruit fell by 0.5% and fish took a dive with costs falling by 3.1%.
