For International Women’s Day on March 8, the Expat Women in Florence group is organising a sanitary pad drive for the St. James Church food bank. The goal is to collect 300 packages of sanitary pads for the growing number of women who come to the food bank for assistance. Donations can be dropped off directly at St. James from Tuesday to Friday in the morning (via Rucellai 9, Florence). For more information, email expatwomeninflorence@gmail.com.

Just a few days later on March 12 at 5pm, Father William Lister and the choir of St. Mark’s English Church will lead the first Anglican service ever held in the Baptistery of San Giovanni. The unprecedented, ecumenical service coincides with the first Anglican Choral Evensong being held at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City on March 13.
