With entrants from all over the world and a renowned panel of judges, the Carapelli for Art competition is dedicated to supporting and promoting contemporary art. The impressive prize of 12,000 euro is to be divided between the winners of two categories; the Open category for professional artists, and the Academy category for students enrolled at the academies of fine arts. The 2019 application process is open until July 15. The selected artists will have their work acquired into the Carapelli collection and are ensured to garner much interest.

The competition ran for the first time last year on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Carapelli olive oil company. The theme this year is “Blending. The union between the varieties that leads to new value,” intended to highlight art’s ability to harmonise what is different. The artists are invited to interpret the theme as they wish.

Winners will be announced in September 2019.
