20×14. Reflections on Studying Architecture Abroad

20×14, Reflections on Studying Architecture Abroad: twenty suggestions (or paternal exhortations, if you will) for the fourteen weeks of a regular academic semester.

Franco Pisani is an architect and educator based in Firenze, Italy.

20×14.Reflections on studying architecture abroad. Where 20 are the good-natured pieces of advice (ranging from the rediscovery of sketching, to the practice of discomfort as a learning environment, from the need for spatial experiences to that for reading, from the practice of passion for design to that of storytelling) and 14 is the number of weeks of the typical semester abroad.I liked the idea to have something positive to tell about 2020…under a wider sight it’s a sort of guide about education abroad.
Publication is of interest for all schools that have or are about to have a program abroad, (not only)architecture students and more generally university students thinking about an experience abroad. But it would be also be of interest for those who have already undertaken the semester abroad (as a further reflection and / or memory of the period) and those who are involved in some experience abroad at the moment.
The book has been published by ORO Editions from San Francisco in 2021.
