Soccer scandal investigation

Prosecutors in Rome have wrapped up their investigation into the alleged web of corruption that spawned Italian soccers biggest-ever scandal, Calciopoli. Last week, magistrates deposited evidence against eight people linked to the GEA World agency, which is suspected of having an illegal hold over the Serie A transfer market. These include former Juventus General Manager Luciano Moggi, his son Alessandro, the former president of GEA World, and Davide Lippi, the son of Italys World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi. If the case goes to trial, the suspects will be accused of forming a criminal organization and using violence and in-timidation to pressure players into dropping their existing agents and hiring GEA.
