Australia
has a new representative in the Italian peninsula. In the month of
July, David Ritchie OA (Order of Australia), will replace Amanda
Vanstone, the former Australian cabinet minister who has served as
ambassador since mid-2007. Ritchie previously served as Australian
ambassador to Indonesia, and has also served in Zambia, Kenya and
Germany. He comes to the ambassadorship from his most recent post in
Australia’s department of foreign affairs and trade.
