The home of “The Decameron” author, Giovanni Boccaccio, may soon be up for sale according to local officials. The house, which is located in the Tuscan hill town of Certaldo and is today a museum visited by over 15,000 people each year, will most probably be acquired by the municipality itself, if it manages to raise the necessary funds. City officials claim that 200,000 euros have already been set aside for the acquisition of what could be considered the most important historical monument located in Certaldo.
