Rugby highlights

The Giunti Firenze 1931 rugby team has all the right cards to make this
a season to remember. They kicked off the 2008/2009 Serie A season with two
back-to-back wins against Marchiol San Marco on October 5 and Livorno on October 11. However,
celebrations ended after the 10-26 defeat by L’Aquila rugby 1936 on October 19.
‘We knew we would have a difficult match against L’Aquila’, said Florence coach Paolo Ghelardi,
‘They are an excellent team that has won several championships’. The  bad luck continued on October 26 when the Lyons from Piacenza bested them 19-15.
