To be burning up from excessive heat.

Example: ‘O nini, apri le finestre che si schianta da’ i’ cardo!’

Roba da gatti fradici

Literally, ‘stuff of wet cats.’ Figuratively, things that are ‘crazy.’

Example: ‘Io ‘un so icchè dire! Lè roba da gatti fradici!’ (‘I don’t know what to say! That is some crazy stuff!’)

 

 

Tattamèo

A person who acts stupid.

Example: ‘Ma guarda che tattamèo lè quel grullo! Un fà un discorso normale!’ (‘Look at that fool acting stupid! He never says anything normal!

 

 

Nocchino

To punch someone in the head. To cause more pain, contact is made with the knuckles. 

Example: ‘Dà retta nanni, se un t’u stai bòno ti dò un nocchino!’(Listen to me buddy because if you don’t, I’ll give you a knuckle punch!’)
