Yassin Z. is eight years old and would like to see his
next birthday. Afflicted with Fanconi anemia, a rare genetic disease that
causes cancer and bone marrow failure, he desperately needs a bone marrow
transplant, the only option to save his life. Three Florentine
associations-Associazione Noi per Voi, Associazione Genitori contro Lucemie e
tumori infantile and Soccorso Clown-have brought Yassin from Morocco to
Florence’s Meyer hospital in an attempt to save his life. Part of the 180,000
euro needed to cover his treatment has already been donated by the hospital and
the Noi per Voi association, which has set up a donation drive for the public.
To meet the rest of the costs, and give this young boy a future, La Nazione has begun another donation drive. All donations to the account set up (see
below) to fund Yassin’s treatment will go directly to help him.
