A shuffle in the local administration has brought some new faces to city hall. Caterina Biti, 35, is the new local superintendent for the environment. Former superintendent of culture, Giuliano Da Empoli, has left Palazzo Vecchio and Mayor Matteo Renzi will be taking over his responsibilities as the head of culture. After a sabbatical in the United States, Da Empoli will return to work with the mayor as manager of the think tank, Big Bang. There are now five women and four men in the city council, making Palazzo Vecchio pinker than ever.
