Siena offers the
second-best quality of life in Italy,  following the northern city of
Bolzano, according to a recent survey by Italy’s leading finance and business
daily, Il Sole 24 Ore.

Other
cities in the top 10 in the 32nd annual ranking are Trento, Rimini, Trieste,
Parma, Belluno, Ravenna, Bologna and Aosta.

The
assessment focused on six different areas of daily life: lifestyle; business
and work life; infrastructure, waste and environmental standards; health care
standards; population; and free time.

The
survey was conducted in 107 provinces, with Taranto showing the worst results.

Siena
also ranked high in terms of ‘free time,’ second only to Rimini. Lucca, placed
first for environmental services and health protection, a sector in which the
region as a whole stands out as one of the most advanced regions, with Pisa
also making the top 10.
